Belladrum 2018 was a blast…

Belladrum 2018

This was my first time at the Belladrum Tartan heart Festival…a fantastic music, arts and culture extravaganza which was previously voted the UK’s best Festival.

Here are some favourite highlights for me…mostly, though, we just danced….!

Kissmet were amazing with their fusion of Bhangra & Led Zeppelin as they tore through Whole Lotta Love. The LaFontaines were pretty cool. Primal Scream did the Primal Scream thing and tore the main stage down at the end. My highlight was probably the Charlatans…the last time I saw them was on the Some Friendly tour at the start of the 90s. They were just fantastic and ended with a poignant tribute to Frightened Rabbit frontman Scott Hutchison with Tim Burgess singing Head Rolls Off accompanied by Scott’s brother Grant and Rabbit’ keyboard player Billy Kennedy. There were a lot of tears in the crowd…

Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess invited Scott’s brother and fellow bandmate Grant Hutchison along with keyboard player Billy Kennedy onstage to perform an emotional rendition of the band’s track, Head Rolls Off.
