It’s great when the barrier between subject and photographer has been demolished and the presence of the camera has been completely forgotten. I need that to happen for my work to be successful. Natural emotions cannot be posed. They just look false. I’m more interested in a photograph capturing a perfect moment between people than I am in spending hours getting every crease out of a dress. I love this photograph because it conveys a real sense of the relationship between the couple and how much fun they were having.

This bridal portrait is a favourite of mine on so many different levels. In the chaos of the bridal preparations, it represents an oasis of calm. The light in the room was really quite exquisite, I loved her veil and Lorna was perfectly beautiful.
