East Lothian from the Air.
Many thanks to my pal Mat for taking me on a flight over beautiful East Lothian in his microlight. It is a wonderful way to enjoy the landscape.
Taking off from East Fortune Airfield, home runway of East of Scotland Microlights, Mat took me over the Lothian beaches to the Bass rock and back inland as I struggled to operate a bulky sir camera. You can easily see man’s influence on our landscape over the ages…from the outlines of long abandoned Iron Age hill forts to the present day forests of wind turbines…but nature’s artistry in the contours of the hills and coastline remain timeless.
