Wedding Photojournalism

A thought on wedding photojournalism.

The majority of what I shoot at a wedding is photojournalistic. As a photographer, if you allow yourself, you become sensitive to people’s emotions. I always look for real emotion and connections between people in my photographs far more than I look for them to simply look into a camera and smile.

There is something very beautiful about being present when a Mum sees her daughter in her dress for the first time. The secret is suddenly revealed, the waiting and anticipation comes to an end and the moment remains very real. I have to try to take that moment and hold it within an image forever so it is never, ever lost…
